Calling front on an empty container causes undefined behavior.

// Run this code
#include <list>
#include <iostream>
int main()
{
std::list<char> letters{'a', 'b', 'c', 'd', 'e', 'f'};
if (!letters.empty())
std::cout << "The first character is '" <<
letters.front() << "'.\n";
}
